Summary

Growing up in a strict Muslim community in Iran, I felt the suffocating burden of trying to be perfect. I loved my friends and my family dearly, yet even as a child, I was exposed to harsh teachings that left me terrified of making even the smallest mistake. As I grew older, the pressure became unbearable, and I decided to say goodbye to the God I knew. It wasn’t until my family, already refugees along with my Christian sister and brother-in-law, showed me another way—that Jesus was also a refugee and a savior—that I discovered a God of peace, freedom, and unconditional love. Embracing Jesus has transformed my inner world, replacing fear with hope, and revealing that true identity and healing come only through His saving grace.

After her family joined her Christian sister and brother-in-law as refugees, she saw the God they knew was different. Peace, freedom, love—if these were the things of God, who was He really? Yasra came to find that Jesus was also a refugee and her Savior. Because of what He did, His Father could now be hers.
