Summary

I grew up in a broken family; my father left when I was six, and all I ever wanted was to have a family of my own. I met my husband in college, and we married young. But after 14 and a half years of marriage and raising three children, my world was shattered when my husband decided to leave. I felt completely abandoned, and the loss of that peace left me in a personal hell. One day, after dropping my children off to see their dad, I sat in my closed garage for 20 minutes, overwhelmed by despair. That was when I found my way to Hope through college friends—I attended a Christmas Eve service alone, where I cried through the entire service yet felt a calm, overwhelming peace wash over me. Moved by that experience, I decided to be baptized a few weeks later. Looking back, I realize that although I once struggled in a painful personal crisis, that moment of surrender led to a profound rebuild. Today, I am a better mother and a stronger woman, confident that the path before me is unfolding for a reason.
