Stories of Grace: Sean Lenahan
Summary
In my testimony, I share how it took me about 35 years to truly understand that I wasn’t as important as I thought until Jesus intervened in my life. Growing up in the Midwest within the Catholic church, I initially followed in my father’s footsteps—joining the Marine Corps and later becoming a police officer. Despite outward success and multiple marriages, I struggled with a deep sense of emptiness because I relied solely on my own strength. The turning point came when my wife brought me to church; the very first sermon hit me hard, and though I initially wanted to leave, the pull of Christ was irresistible. I was forced to confront my pride and the mess I had made of my life. In that moment, I heard God’s voice telling me He had bigger plans for me. Since surrendering everything to Jesus, I now live without fear or the crushing pressure of having to be someone I’m not. I strive to be remembered as a servant of Jesus, shining His glory through my redemption and transformation. All glory goes to Jesus.
