Jan Frank – Child Sex Abuse / Marrying a Survivor
Summary
I still remember the heartbreak of being abandoned at the age of five when my dad left and the cruel pain of being abused by my stepfather shortly after. As a little girl, I clung to the hope that if I were good enough, my father would return—but that hope faded with time. In my early years, I endured unspeakable trauma in silence. At ten, during an evening service at church, I lifted my hand and invited Jesus into my heart, believing that He could change everything. Although I buried much of that pain, the deep scars affected me well into adulthood and even complicated my marriage. Over the years, through prayer and counseling, I came to understand that healing must come from addressing the hidden wounds on the inside, not just the surface. God’s gentle, redemptive love has worked slowly but surely, restoring my spirit and guiding me to a place of forgiveness and renewed hope. Today, I share my story so that others who have suffered might know that healing is possible—that God’s grace can mend even the most broken parts of our lives.
