My name is Pastor John Barton. I was a man who never had time to be sick until one day, I felt a painful lump in my throat that turned out to be a gulp of blood. Over the next few days, I suffered from debilitating fatigue, fever, and chills until I could no longer ignore my worsening condition. After several trips to the ER and countless tests, doctors could not initially pinpoint the cause. Eventually, I was diagnosed with acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis (ADEM)—a mysterious illness that obliterated my brain stem with inflammation. I slipped into a state so weak that I could barely speak or breathe and was placed on life support at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Through fervent prayers from my family, church, and people around the world, a miracle unfolded. After a week in the hospital, I began to move my fingers and toes, gradually emerging from a deep coma. With intensive treatment, I was rehabilitated, and soon I was able to walk again. My recovery is a testament to the power of prayer and God’s miraculous healing. I now live in gratitude, my faith strengthened beyond measure.
