Hey Berry Besties! Remember that even though these cupcakes look like our pet pals, they are NOT safe for pets to eat!

Hi my berry best bakers! Today we’re baking soft, fluffy custard cupcakes and dressing them up with a shiny chocolate shell and the cutest paw prints and whiskers.

Cupcake Recipe

What You’ll Need

Ingredients
● 1Β½ cups all-purpose flour
● 1 cup white sugar
● 1Β½ teaspoons baking powder
● A pinch of salt
● Β½ cup milk (whole milk works best)
● 2 large eggs
● 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
● 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

First, ask a grown-up to help you set the oven to 350Β°F and move the rack to the middle.

Let’s Make the Cupcakes

1. Line It Up
Place cupcake liners in a muffin pan. Double them up so your cupcakes stay neat and tidy.
2. Whisk Up Some Sunshine
In a big bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until they look pale and happy.
Add the butter and vanilla and mix until creamy and dreamy.
3. Berry Gentle Mixing
In a small bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Mix and Match
Add the dry ingredients to the bowl in three turns, switching back and forth with the milk. Mix just until everything comes together. Nice and gentle. Strawberry Shortcake always says, don’t over-mix.
5. Fill the Cups
Spoon batter into each cupcake liner, filling them about two-thirds full. Not too much. We want room to grow.
6. Bake to Perfection
Bake for 17–20 minutes. Ask a grown-up to help check with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, your cupcakes are ready.
7. Cool Your Cakes
Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes. Patience makes them extra sweet.

Pink Paws & Whiskers Chocolate Shell

What You’ll Need
● 12 oz white melting chocolate
● 1–2 teaspoons coconut or vegetable oil (only if needed)
● Pink and black food coloring pens (can buy from Michaels or Walmart)

1. Melt the Magic
Put half the white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl.
Heat for 15–20 seconds at a time, stirring gently between each turn, until smooth and shiny. Slow and steady wins the bake-off.
2. Dip and Swirl
Hold a cupcake by the bottom, turn it upside down, and dip the top into the melted chocolate. Dip once or twice until it looks berry beautiful.
3. Let It Set
Place the cupcakes chocolate dipped side up and let the chocolate harden for 15–20 minutes.
4. Add the Berry Cute Details
Use the pink and black food coloring pens to draw sweet paw prints and whiskers. Every cupcake can have its own personality, just like Strawberry Shortcake’s friends.
