Summary

I grew up in a broken family—my father left when I was six—and all I ever wanted was to build the family I never had. I met my husband in college, and we married young with high hopes. But after 14½ years of marriage and raising three children, my world was suddenly upended when my husband decided to leave. I felt utterly lost and the peace that once made me whole was gone. One day, after dropping my children off to see their dad, I parked in our three-car garage, left the car running, and sat there for 20 minutes in despair. That moment marked the beginning of my rebuild. Through the encouragement of college friends, I attended a Christmas Eve service alone—crying through the entire service yet feeling a profound, calming peace. Moved by that experience, I chose to be baptized a few weeks later. Looking back, though I once endured a personal hell, that act of surrender led me to a remarkable restoration. Today, I am a better mother and a stronger woman, confident that the path ahead is unfolding for a reason.
