I ran away—but God pursued me! | Ron Regenstreif
Summary
I am Ron Regenstreif, and my life was once consumed by drug addiction and a desire to escape my troubled past. Born into a Jewish family with both my parents coming from broken homes, I faced a miserable family life and was sent to boarding school just before my 12th birthday. The lack of parental guidance and terrible examples led me to a six-year journey of adapting to a life filled with drugs. By the time I graduated from prep school, I had become a regular drug user, escalating from marijuana to LSD and amphetamines in my quest for the next high. My desire for pleasure led me to drop out of college and move out west to Southern Oregon, where I continued my destructive path. One day, while hitchhiking to Mexico, I encountered a Christian family who introduced me to Jesus. Despite my initial disinterest, their persistent faith and the gospel began to resonate with me. After a life-threatening incident involving my friends and the police, I felt a profound need for change. I started reading the Bible and felt an overwhelming sense of God’s presence, which transformed my life completely. Embracing Christianity brought me peace, purpose, and a new identity. Today, I dedicate my life to sharing this testimony, encouraging others to seek Jesus and experience His transformative love.
