Dr. Mark Wilson takes Jeremy Dehut to the Red Basilica in Pergamum, in modern-day Bergama. Also called variously the Red Hall and Red Courtyard, the Red Basilica is a monumental ruined temple in the ancient city, where people once gathered to worship the various false gods of that time, including the Egyptian gods Isis and Serapis. The priests there would put on a terrifying show and even speak for the idols there, in order to exert control and fear upon the people there.
