Patrick Messina built a career as a patent lawyer for a pharmaceutical company. Then he got sick, lost his position, and found himself with one client left and not much time.

That last case leads him to a doctor studying an olive tree in Sicily, centuries old, said to produce leaves that heal. The claim traces back through local history into scripture itself. Patrick goes to find out whether there is anything to it, and what he uncovers pulls in an old order of Catholic priests, a pharmaceutical company with its own reasons for wanting an answer, and a question he cannot argue his way around: is this a miracle, a chemical, or a story people needed to be true.

Starring Eric Roberts, Sean Young, Armand Assante, and Federico Castelluccio. Directed by Ante Novakovic in his feature debut, based on the novel by D.J. Healey, with an original score by Randy Edelman.

Filmed in Sicily and the United States. Rated PG.
