Abe is not a fraud. He is a storefront minister in Memphis who genuinely believes God works through him. When a mother carries her sick son into his church and asks him to pray, Abe says yes, because saying no would mean admitting the limits of his own faith.

Doctors have no answers. The schools have given up. There is no one else. And the harder Abe prays, the further everything slips out of his hands. Based on actual events, Free in Deed asks what happens when sincere belief meets a situation it cannot fix, and who carries the weight when it goes wrong.
