Is the Church being distracted from its greatest mission? Are we so busy with programmes, opinions, entertainment, politics, social media, and everyday life that we’ve forgotten the very reason Jesus left us here?

In this deeply moving and challenging message, Tony Anthony shares his remarkable testimony of finding Jesus Christ in a prison cell and delivers a powerful sermon entitled “Bombs of Distraction.” His message is a wake-up call to every believer and every church to return to the priority Jesus gave us—to win souls and preach the Gospel.
Tony tells the unforgettable story of how a Christian missionary visited him in prison and spoke to him about Jesus. At the same time, Tony was grieving the tragic loss of his blind girlfriend, who had been killed in a car accident.
As he sat alone in his prison cell, he reflected on the fact that although she had never seen his face, she had loved him completely. That revelation transformed his thinking. He realised that if she could love someone she had never seen, then he too could trust and believe in Jesus Christ, even though he had never seen Him.
Looking at the bars of his prison cell, Tony noticed they formed the shape of a cross. In that life-changing moment, he knew God was calling him. He surrendered his life to Christ, and what began in a prison cell became a worldwide mission to reach the lost.
Today, Tony Anthony leads the Great Commission Society, a ministry serving in more than 150 nations with over 3,000 missionaries. They bring food to the hungry, care for vulnerable communities, pray with broken people, and boldly proclaim the Gospel in some of the most dangerous places on earth, including Iran, Ukraine, and other war-torn countries.
His extraordinary life story became the international bestselling book Taming the Tiger, which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.
But Tony’s challenge goes far beyond his testimony.
He warns that the Church is under attack by “bombs of distraction.” These distractions are not always sinful—they can even be good things—but when they become our focus, they slowly pull us away from God’s primary mission. We can become occupied with church activities, personal ambitions, entertainment, comfort, debates, finances, technology, politics, and countless other pursuits while millions of people are still waiting to hear about Jesus Christ.
Jesus gave one clear command:
“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
This message will inspire you to examine your priorities, renew your passion for evangelism, and remember why the Church exists—to glorify God by making disciples and leading people to salvation through Jesus Christ.
If you’ve ever felt spiritually comfortable, distracted, or wondered what God is calling you to do, this message will both encourage and challenge you.
