When I was young, I experienced a profound loss—my second oldest brother Cole, a wrestler who taught me many life lessons, passed away from an autoimmune disease when I was seven. The pain and guilt over his death burdened me, and I even wrestled with suicidal thoughts in sixth grade. During a Bible session with Miss Alderson, I found a quiet moment where I laid down by the computers, closed my eyes, and began crying. In that vulnerable moment, I saw Jesus standing in a wheat field. He led me to a log cabin where I discovered a trophy case displaying our family’s potential. Then, in an unexpected twist, I witnessed an almost playful, supernatural encounter: Jesus ran onto a basketball court, shooting hoops—so vividly that even my late brother Cole seemed to join in the fun. Looking into His eyes, I felt overwhelming love and freedom, and all the self-hatred and guilt that once weighed me down vanished. This encounter not only healed my broken heart regarding Cole’s loss but also filled me with a new hope and joy that continues to inspire me.
