Summary
I grew up in a home where God was an afterthought, and I proudly identified as an atheist. Behind closed doors, I battled an undiagnosed genetic disorder—Ehlers‑Danlos syndrome—that left me in chronic pain and depression. At seventeen, I even faced a near‑death experience and questioned whether life was worth living. But God met me in my weakness: first through the promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient,” then through dedicated physical and functional therapy that felt nothing short of a miracle. One day, a simple verse—Matthew 11:28—finally pierced my hardened heart: “Come to me, all who are weary… and I will give you rest.” From that moment, I traded my doubt for daily devotion, studying scripture with passion and finding the unconditional love I’d longed for—sometimes through rescued horses who simply “got” my pain. Today, I’m not ashamed of my journey. I’m living proof that even the hardest heart can be softened by God’s grace, and my greatest joy is pointing others back to His Word.
