As his community faces tragedy and gentrification, musician Hugo is challenged by his pastor to write new music to lift up the congregation. Struggling with writer’s block, he wanders into the new neighborhood coffee shop and meets Mercy, a fellow musician who offers to help. Their creative partnership grows into something deeper, but the reactions from their friends, families, and churches catch them off guard. When a routine traffic stop shakes their relationship, both are forced to confront the beliefs and narratives they’ve carried all along.
