How does an online order actually get from a warehouse to your front door? 📦

We usually click “order” and a few days later, a box magically appears on our doorstep… but what happens behind the scenes?

In this educational Happy Hubbard’s adventure, we went inside the Just Ingredients warehouse in Orem, Utah to follow a real online order from the moment it was received all the way to the shipping truck!

Our kids got to experience the 7 steps of how an online order gets to your door, including:

📱 Receiving an online order
🔎 Finding and picking the correct products
📦 Scanning products and organizing inventory
✅ Quality checking the order
📦 Packing the products safely
🏷️ Printing and applying the shipping label
🚚 Sending the package through the warehouse and onto a semi truck

But that wasn’t all!

We got to see forklifts, pallets, conveyor belts, warehouse workers, packing stations, a giant swamp cooler, a real semi truck, shipping pallets, and the different systems that keep thousands of products organized.

The kids even got to help pick products, scan barcodes, pack a box, sort packages, and help prepare our order for shipping!

An interesting learning moments was discovering why barcodes and organization are so important. With thousands of products that can look very similar, the warehouse has systems in place to make sure the RIGHT product goes into the RIGHT order.

We also learned about teamwork, workplace safety, inventory, logistics, packaging, shipping, and all the different jobs it takes to get one little package from a warehouse to a family’s home.

And then came the ultimate test…

We shipped OUR package from the warehouse, and waited to see if it would actually show up at our house! 🤯

When it finally arrived, we opened the exact box we had watched being packed and shipped!

Inside were some of our Just Ingredients essentials, including protein powder, protein bars, electrolytes, hot chocolate, tooth powder, mouthwash, probiotics, and more.
