Thomas Conley is being bullied at school and his parents’ marriage is coming apart at home. Then a girl appears in the schoolyard, covered in cobwebs, studying a leaf like she has never seen one. She does not know where she came from.

Her name is Joy, and she does not stay one age for long. Over the course of the film she appears as a child, a teenager, a young woman, and finally as an old woman, five actresses playing one person moving through a life. What she brings into the Conley house is not a fix. It is a series of chances for a family to say the things they have been avoiding.

A fantasy drama about faith, forgiveness, and the people who turn up in your life without explanation and leave once the work is done. Phoenix Nicholson won the Nova Star Young Performers Award for Best Actor in his first lead role.

Starring Arie Thompson, Jensen Atwood, and Phoenix Nicholson. Written and directed by David Skato.
