The holy Bible tells us that the Gospel will go out to the four corners of the earth and then Jesus will return (See: Matthew 24:14). So what IS the "Gospel"? It is what Jesus Christ accomplished for humanity. He paid the penalty for our sins so that they would not be a barrier between us and God ... both now and especially when we die.
That barrier literally would keep every one of us from being qualified to go to heaven when we die, and JESUS TORE DOWN THAT BARRIER by paying for the debt for our sins -- so they won't be held against us WHEN we die.
God wills that every one of us goes to heaven when we die, to be with Him for ETERNITY (See: 1 Timothy 2:24). But He gives us a choice in the matter. It doesn't just happen automatically.
We must first REPENT. We must tell God we are sorry for all our sins, then ask Him for forgiveness for them, and then tell Him that we want Jesus Christ to become our personal Savior and Lord the rest of our lives.
