Summary

SummaryI grew up in Iraq as a Muslim, questioning my faith until one night I dreamed of a beautiful figure who told me, ‘You are my beloved child. This is the way. Follow me.’ After that dream, a Christian friend led me to a pastor who prayed for me and gave me a Bible. I hid my new faith at home, even taping over the title of my Bible so my children wouldn’t know what I was reading. But when my family noticed my changed behavior, my wife feared God would destroy our home. Soon, threats came: my own brother tried to kill me, firebombs were thrown at our house, and letters warned me to abandon Christianity or die. Yet God was faithful. Two of my children and my wife came to Christ, and the local church supported us with trauma care, training, and livelihood help. Through Open Doors’ training, I became an evangelist, strengthened in faith to stay and share God’s love in my village despite isolation and insults from neighbors. Now I know God has a purpose for me here, and I will continue to proclaim the gospel no matter the cost.

When Yasin* from #Iraq became a Christian, he faced violent opposition for his faith. His own brother tried to kill him several times. Thanks to you, he’s received training through Open Doors which has strengthened his resolve to stay in his community and keep sharing God’s love.
