Summary

I was born into a Pakistani Muslim family in the UK, where I experienced a strict, sometimes brutal introduction to Islam. From childhood, I questioned why I had to recite a Qur’an I couldn’t understand and why imams would punish mistakes so harshly. Over time, I saw hypocrisy and emptiness around me. Yet I felt a glimpse of peace in a Christian church service as a child, and later on, when I watched a film about Jesus, my heart was deeply moved. Despite family rejection and the pain of breaking away from my community, I discovered true acceptance and transformation through Christ. My path wasn’t simple: I struggled with depression, loneliness, and even prison time. But believers who genuinely lived out love and forgiveness showed me a better way. Ultimately, through prayer and God’s grace, I found the courage to leave Islam behind and embrace Jesus Christ as my Savior, trusting Him to heal my wounds and fill the void that religion alone could never satisfy.
