No Longer a Slave to Addiction
Summary
I was engulfed in a living hell, feeling that nothing could quench my thirst for acceptance. Growing up in the projects of Norfolk, Virginia, I experienced abandonment and a desperate search for belonging. My journey into drug dealing and addiction began as a way to feel respected and valued. After multiple overdoses and encounters with the law, a hard breakup and a friend’s grandmother’s wise words drove me to the edge. In a moment of despair, I knelt, wept, and called out to God, and His saving grace rescued me. Today, I live a renewed life—working hard, embracing my faith, and cherishing my blended family, with a heart full of gratitude for the second chance I received through Jesus.
