SummaryI grew up in Germany, moved to the United States as a child, and was bullied until I escaped into profanity, lust and pornography. As a teenager God surprised me at what I thought was just a college party, where I heard someone pray like he truly knew Jesus, and soon after I repented and began to follow Christ. Years later I looked like I had the perfect Christian American dream—a wife, four kids, a good job and church leadership—but my identity was in those roles, not in Jesus. When back pain led to narcotic painkillers, my wife's severe illness and death pushed me into full-blown addiction to pills, alcohol and pornography; my lies multiplied, my children were taken into foster care, and I tried more than once to end my own life. In a padded jail cell, reading the book of Job, I finally saw my pride, fell to my knees and surrendered everything to God, and He met me with overwhelming peace, broke the power of addiction and began rebuilding my life. Today Jesus has kept me sober, restored my relationship with my children, given me a godly wife, Natalie, and turned my story from shame and bondage into a testimony of His grace for others trapped in addiction. 🙏✨

Julian Weber was a regular father from suburban America who had everything the American Dream could offer – a loving wife, 4 children, a beautiful home, a great job, and even leadership in his church.

But when his identity was stripped away, his idyllic life soon followed. He became addicted to painkillers, alcohol, and pornography – and everything he held precious was destroyed. Only a Savior could bring him peace.
