From Muslim to Charismatic to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Summary
My name is Hasti, and I was born in Iran, where I was first raised as a devout Muslim. My family later moved to Denmark, and eventually we settled in Canada. My mother desperately searched through different faiths—traveling to Mecca, visiting Buddhist temples, and even checking Scientology—trying to find peace. When she attended a Christian service, she became convinced Jesus is Lord. I followed her to the same charismatic church, where I said a ‘sinner’s prayer’ without ever really understanding the true Gospel. For years, I believed in speaking in tongues on command, Word of Faith teachings, and promises of healing or financial prosperity if I just had enough faith. Gradually, I questioned why the cross of Christ and the depth of our sin were never taught. Feeling unsettled, I discovered reformed theology and expository preaching. I realized Jesus didn’t die simply to grant us a better life here and now—He came to save us from God’s righteous wrath against our sin. After leaving my old church and finding a biblically sound, Christ-centered fellowship, God opened my eyes fully to the true Gospel of grace. Today, I rejoice in the freedom and hope I’ve found in Jesus Christ alone.

In this inspiring testimony video, you’ll meet Hasti who was born in Iran and raised as a Muslim, until her family moved and joined a Charismatic church. There, they spoke in tongues and engaged in charismatic practices. Then God started working in Hasti’s life and plucked her out from unsound and unbiblical teachings, and showed her the Biblical truth about the Gospel that can only be found in Scripture.
