“I wasn’t even thinking about my leg—I just wanted more of Jesus. But when I came out of the water, my leg grew out instantly… and all the pain was gone.” —Sherry
Sherry came to the KINEO graduation service simply to support her daughter. She rode in from Morganton, North Carolina—with her ex-husband. They had remained civil over the years, and neither expected what God was about to do.
Sherry had lived in pain for 20 years. After a devastating car accident, her right leg was an inch and a half shorter than her left. She endured multiple surgeries, walked with a cane for seven years, and had to lock her knee to keep from collapsing. Twice her leg broke just from buckling.
But she wasn’t thinking about her leg when she stepped into the baptismal waters that night. She just wanted more of God.
And then everything changed.
In an instant, her leg grew out completely.
The pain vanished.
She stood. Walked.
Healed.
And her miracle lit a spark in someone watching.
Her ex-husband, standing at the water’s edge, was stunned. Later he confessed, “I didn’t go in because I thought God would kill me. I’ve done too many horrible things.” Sherry gently told him, “You can never be good enough—and you can never be bad enough. Jesus loves you right where you are.”
She gave him a prayer cloth from the service. Days later, he was at home, still in pain and still deaf in one ear. So he squeezed water from the cloth, dipped a Q-tip in it, and put it in his ear.
His hearing returned.
Then he rubbed the cloth over his back—and the pain left.
He drove for hours the next day just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke.
Still no pain.
But the greatest miracle?
“I asked God to forgive me.”
This is a story of physical healing.
But it’s even more a story of redemption, restoration, and hope.
No one is too far gone.
No pain is too deep.
No heart is too hard.
Jesus still heals. And He still saves.
