Leaving the Gay Lifestyle Behind – Ron Smith
Summary
I grew up in a church environment with Salvation Army parents, yet I always felt a deep disconnect—especially from my father. That disconnect led to social isolation and, eventually, an awakening of attractions that I never fully understood. At 17, a spontaneous sexual encounter marked the beginning of my struggle with a gay identity. Over nearly 18 years, I endured an emotionally codependent relationship that left me depleted. God, however, was not finished with me. I eventually left that relationship and found true healing and redemption through New Hope Ministries. Today, I stand as a redeemed man, no longer identifying with the gay community but with my Christian community, as I live out the restored life that God has called me to live.
