My name is يسرا, and I grew up in a very religious city in Iran. From a young age, I was warned that God would punish me for small things, like painting my nails. The fear this created pushed me away from prayer, and I just wanted to live my life in peace. My father eventually decided we should leave Iran, and I ended up living as a refugee with my older sister and her husband. They were Christians, worshipping God freely in Persian, dancing, singing—and it surprised me because I’d been taught those things offended God. I started reading the Bible and realized God is not an angry judge, but a loving Father who created me with care. Over time, I saw that Jesus had suffered rejection too, and He understood my struggles. Finally, I prayed to invite Him into my life. That moment, all my old fear melted away,and I found freedom in knowing God loves me—no matter what. Now, I want to share this truth with everyone, especially those who feel distant or afraid of God, so they can discover His real heart of love and acceptance.
