I am Jonathan Isaac. Throughout my life—from being born in New York and raised in Naples, Florida to representing the Orlando Magic—I have learned that my identity is not defined by basketball alone but by my unwavering faith in Jesus. I faced challenges on the court and in life, from intense scrutiny over my decisions to overcoming personal doubts and physical setbacks. Every moment, whether it was choosing not to kneel during the national anthem or pushing through an injury, has been a testament to God’s guidance. Today, as I stand both as an athlete and a recently ordained minister, I share my story so that others may see that true strength comes from trusting Jesus, who alone transforms our struggles into purpose and gives glory to His name.

Orlando Magic Power Forward Jonathan Isaac decided to stand up during the national anthem while his teammates and coaching staff took a knee. With the uprising Black Lives Matter movement, NBA teams decided to express their opinions by taking a knee during the national anthem. Additionally, players decided to wear “Black Lives Matter” shirts on the court. But Jonathan Isaac; he decided to pass on both of these gestures. Why? Because of his faith in Jesus Christ, and a lot of backlash was sent his way because of it.

In this documentary, Jonathan’s entire life story is showcased. Having Jesus as his main foundation in life, Jonathan’s story is truly inspiring.
