My name is Gary. I was a trucker who experienced a near‐death ordeal when I found myself trapped on top of 46,000 pounds of explosives in a trash compactor. In that terrifying moment—overwhelmed by pain, fear, and regret for my past sins—I cried out to God. Through what I believe was divine intervention, I was given a second chance at life. This testimony is my journey of conversion and restoration, demonstrating how Jesus transformed my despair into hope. I share my story to remind others that no matter how far we fall, God’s grace can redeem and restore us.

Important tips in constructing your testimony: REMEMBER – your audience is the UNSAVED. Don’t use Christian language that is foreign to them. Use plain simple English. Don’t preach! Don’t teach scripture! Do not share your pet Bible doctrines. Simply share what your thoughts of God were before you got saved. Share HOW you got saved. Then share changes that Jesus has brought about in your life. SHARE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU THAT HE CAN AND WANTS TO DO FOR OTHERS WHO WILL PUT THEIR TRUST IN HIM AND SERVE HIM IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS WRITTEN WORD.

The unsaved are searching for HOPE. That’s the number one reason people read or listen to testimonies in the first place! Born again believers have the MOST HOPE there is available! Write your testimony reflecting this reality, and you can never go wrong.
