Summary

I, Pastor Robert Scales, share my journey of faith. From my call to partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries in 1992—when Jesus instructed me to pull out the anointing on Brother Copeland—to my commitment to teach how God loved us on the Cross, my ministry has been a testament to divine intervention. Despite facing persecution, including physical attacks for preaching the gospel, the Lord has continuously rescued and sustained me. My testimony is solely about Jesus, whose love and sacrifice form the foundation of my calling and ministry.

When Robert Scales, a pastor in Watertown, Tenn., entered full-time ministry in 1989, he knew the importance of having leaders in his life who have heard from and followed the Lord. Scales said, “They set an example for us to follow. We follow them, who in faith and patience inherit the promises.” Once he discovered Kenneth Copeland, the Lord told Pastor Scales to partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries. “The Lord told me pull on the anointing that is on Brother Copeland to prosper.” That is exactly what he has been doing since he began partnering with KCM in 1992. He has not missed a month of support since that time, over 30 years ago.

Pastor Scales knows his purpose. “My assignment is to teach on how God loved us at the Cross. Love is the most important.” As he has walked that purpose out, he has had ample opportunity to be afraid, but the Lord has always pulled him through. He’s had both jaws broken, been spat on, had bottles thrown at him and guns pulled on him—all for preaching the gospel. The Lord has always rescued him. Brother Copeland and Kenneth Hagin’s stories of persecution have encouraged him to love like Jesus did. “To be kind, we must remember what God has done for us in order to maintain a tender heart,” says Pastor Scales.
