Testimony Thursday – Abused by a Pastor
Summary
I am Jermaine Cameron. Though many see me as successful and secure, my past is scarred by deep-seated insecurities from an experience of abuse by a pastor when I was just 10 years old. Growing up in Kingston, Jamaica, in poverty, I carried that pain into my adulthood—affecting my personal, professional, and spiritual life. Through years of soul searching, mentorship, and the transformative power of God’s love, I have been restored. Today, I stand as a chosen man, no longer seeking affirmation from others but relying on God’s unwavering grace.

I have a great job, I preach, teach, I evangelize… Many people see me as successful and well-off. Not many people see the insecurities that have plagued me from childhood as a result of what a “man of God” did to me.
My trust in the church was destroyed at a young age, yet God has restored me, restored my faith, and caused me to see that my battles were not in vain. I am the man I am today because He chose me.
