Summary

Anthony Rogers tells his transformative story of encountering Jesus while incarcerated. Serving time on the streets of Southern California and later at the Southern Desert Correctional Institution in Indian Springs, Nevada, he experienced a life-changing moment when a fellow inmate—a self-professed devil worshipper—challenged him to tear the Bible to shreds. Terrified by the realization of his sinfulness and overwhelmed by guilt, he turned to Christ after hearing the gospel. Upon his release, his journey continued with marriage to a Jewish woman, the blessing of children, and a calling to ministry. Now a pastor of prison ministries and an evangelist, his testimony inspires hope and demonstrates the redemptive power of Jesus in bringing true freedom.

We invite you to join us for a twist on our normal Conversations with Jewish Believers In Jesus, hosted by Jeff Morgan. In this episode, Jeff has a powerful conversation with Anthony Rogers who had an encounter with Yeshua that literally set him free.

Anthony Rogers came to faith in Jesus in 1993 while he was incarcerated in the Southern Desert Correctional Institution in Indian Springs, Nevada. After his release, he felt compelled to work in Christian ministry. After many twists and turns of God’s divine providence—during which time he got married to a Jewish woman, had children, and went to college, Rogers was eventually accepted into the divinity program at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He graduated in 2018, and the very next year, Calvary Presbytery called Rogers to be the pastor of prison ministries. He now serves in this capacity as the Regional Director for Metanoia in South Carolina, where he lives with his wife and three of his four children.
