Have you ever felt like the world was broken, and that we are broken along with it? But there is Good News: God, in His love, has made a way for us to be restored and reconciled.

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Questions:
1. What do you think about the assertion that the world is broken? Do you agree?

2. Do you agree that there is nothing we can do on our own to restore our own lives? What do you think it would be like to be completely restored?

3. The film also says that God loves us. Is this how you normally think of God? How would your life be different if you knew that God loved you?

4. According to the film, God, through Jesus, offers us the gift of restoration and eternal life. What would keep someone from accepting a gift like this?

Text of the Narrator:
Doesn’t it feel sometimes as if the world is broken? As if something is not right? At the
beginning, God created the world to be full of goodness. But we disobeyed God by taking
our own path away from Him. The world became broken and so did we.

The Bible calls that sin. It goes beyond our actions to the attitude of our hearts. The natural
result for our disobedience is death—separation from the source of life.

We can feel that separation when we experience guilt, shame, and impurity. But there is
nothing we can do to remove our sin or restore our lives, as we are separated from a holy
God. Our story might be tragic if it ended there—but God has made a way! He had a rescue
plan from the very beginning!

God revealed his plan to our ancestors. In the Bible, Ibrahim is a righteous man of faith
before God. God honors Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of
obedience to God. But through God’s intervention, He provided Ibrahim with a ram to
sacrifice instead of his son.

God is just, therefore we deserve to die and be separated from Him. But God also loves
us, He wants us to have eternal life with Him. Just as God replaced the sacrifice of Ibrahim’s
son with this miraculous ram, God provided Jesus to be the final perfect
sacrifice for us. Jesus covers our sins, frees us from the charge of sin, which is death,
and makes us righteous.

Jesus, who is fully God, became fully human to enter our broken world and
live a perfect life. When He died, He took on Himself our shame and punishment. He died
the death that we deserve. After three days, He rose from the dead, never to die again. This
is the good news of the Bible—God has made a way for us to have eternal life with Him
forever.

When you put your faith in what God has done for you through Christ, He replaces your
shame with honor, your guilt with righteousness.

The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord.”
But the gift is yours only if you accept it. You can do this at any time by praying.

Prayer
“Lord Jesus, I need You.
Thank You for sacrificing yourself to save me from the punishment for my sins. I accept your gift and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen.”
