I was 13 years old and living in Hawaii, enjoying perfect surf days, when a shark attack changed my life forever by taking my arm. In that critical moment, I prayed to Jesus, and through the help of my friends, heroic doctors, and His divine intervention, I not only survived but learned to surf with one arm. My relationship with Jesus renewed my spirit and restored my passion for surfing, giving me a second chance at life. I share my story to inspire others to trust in God’s power to restore and transform lives.

At age thirteen Bethany Hamilton was a rising surfing star. From her home in Hawaii she had everyday access to some of the world’s best waves and basked in the warmth of a loving family. But her tranquil beach surf life was shattered one morning when a shark completely bit off her arm.
