My name is John, and I grew up in an abusive home that left me angry and depressed for most of my life. I turned to atheism, then explored New Age practices and even Freemasonry in a desperate search for meaning. In the process, I experienced strange spiritual phenomena and heavy oppression. Everything changed the day I finally cried out to God, asking if He was real. In an instant, I felt the weight of darkness lift off me, and I was filled with peace and forgiveness—especially toward my father, with whom I reconciled. As I began reading the Bible, I realized all my previous encounters were demonic deceptions. I left Freemasonry and every occult practice behind. Eventually, I found a Spirit-filled church family that embraced me and helped me grow in genuine faith in Jesus. Though it meant separating from relatives still entangled in spiritual issues, I have never looked back. God redeemed my life, freed me from oppression, and filled me with a hope and purpose I’d never known before.
