SummaryI never imagined that night in Kabandara Village would change everything. Around 10 PM on December 18, rebels descended on our homes, hacking my neighbor and four others to death. We fled, hearts pounding, watching our farms ravaged by wild animals—and malaria threatened us as we huddled outside. A week later, Christmas night brought even more horror: the terrorists killed the missions coordinator and her grandchildren. My mother’s body was almost ash. In my despair, I cried out to God, begging for strength to bury her and comfort to my community. Through the prayers and care of Open Doors partners, we found trauma counselling, spiritual support, and the courage to trust God again. 🙏💔🕊️
