クリスマスはプレゼントの日だと思っているクリスは、モールの抽選会で当選する。モールでは貧しい母と息子がプレゼントも買えずに、ただ商品をながめていた。大喜びするクリスたちを、スーパーブックは、世界が一番大切なプレゼントをもらった日に連れていく。そこはヘロデ王が、ユダヤの王として生まれた子を探しに来ていた天文学者を接待しているところだった。ヘロデ王はその赤ん坊を殺そうと考える。次に3人は、ベツレヘムで泊まる宿がなく家畜小屋に泊まることになった身重のマリアと夫のヨセフに出会う。そしてついに･･･。
現代に戻ったクリスは、モールで見ていた少年にどうするだろうか。
