The Way of the Cross is a devotional exercise which uses prayers performed before representations of various incidents that occurred during Christ’s journey to the Cross on Calvary. These stations in St. Patrick Church in Erie, PA, are beautiful life-size images made of carved stone or wood, mosaic, oil painting and fresco. These meditations offer understanding, healing and joy. They help draw us closer to Jesus and encourage us to love Him even more. These meditations offer us a strong message of comfort that we are not alone as we also walk with Jesus, that we are the beneficiaries, the heirs of Jesus’ glorification on the cross. Through the gorgeous colors, vivid pictures, perceptive descriptions and powerful insights, we can rejoice as we come to realize Christ enters our world through our sufferings.
