Melissa grew up in church and gave her life to God at 7, but she didn’t truly know Him yet. As she got older, she drifted away. After being hurt by someone she trusted at a young age, she struggled with emptiness, shame, and feeling like a burden. She tried to fill the pain with attention from people, online distractions, and living for the world. She knew about God but didn’t really believe what He said about her. She would be close to God on Sundays but distracted during the week. Eventually, she got tired of running and made the decision to build her life on Jesus for real. At a young adult service, she had a powerful encounter with God—He healed her heart and restored her purpose. Today, she writes songs for His glory and lives knowing she is loved, chosen, and created for a purpose
