Summary

Before I encountered Jesus, my life was consumed by addiction and crime. I was convicted, sentenced to life in prison, and lost the trust of my loved ones. With only the Bible in my cell, I read Romans 7:14-25 repeatedly until I had a breakthrough. I confessed my sins and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Through His mercy, I was given a new purpose as I became the chaplain of the prison chapel. After nearly 25 years behind bars, God miraculously set me free—not only in the natural realm but also in the spirit. I now live a redeemed life, testifying solely to Jesus and His grace that restored me.

KCM Partner Reginald Watts had a very “Leave It to Beaver” upbringing, but that didn’t prevent him from getting addicted to crack cocaine his junior year in college. As he tried to hide his addiction from his family, his lies quickly began to cause other problems.

After repeatedly borrowing money and never paying it back, loved ones began to lose their trust in him. Reginald’s circle of friends and family got smaller and smaller, and he began stealing. When he was convicted of robbery, which was dropped to an assault charge, he began to think of how he could change, but not for the better. Reginald was thinking about how he could stop using drugs and begin selling them.

After only a week of that decision, he was right back to using and stealing. This decision would change the entire trajectory of Reginald’s life. He was hit with two convictions and sentenced to life in prison with no parole.

Reginald loved to read, but there was only one book in the cell—the Bible. The first thing he read was Romans 7:14-25, and he had an epiphany. He read it repeatedly and allowed it to really sink in until he finally broke down. He confessed to God that he had been wrong all along, and needed His help. Reginald accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior!

He eventually became the chaplain of the main prison chapel, which allowed him the opportunity to introduce Kenneth Copeland when he came to speak to the inmates. After serving almost 25 years of his life sentence, Reginald was miraculously released from prison!

Reginald feels deeply indebted to Kenneth Copeland Ministries for the role of its partnership with Mike Barber Ministries. Through the power of God and through the power of partnership, Reginald is not only a free man in the natural—but a free man in the spirit. Praise the Lord!
