TARPON SPRINGS, Florida, USA – A shovel, a frozen air conditioning unit and a makeshift grave were the first things police saw at a mobile home in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

They had been called to the home after a relative requested a welfare check when they had not heard from the family for over a week.

Looking through the window on the south side of the mobile home, the police were instantly struck by the number of flies congregating between the window and the curtains.

They knew this was bad, but probably not to the extent they were about to discover.

Inside, the smell of ammonia and decomposing bodies wafted in the air – the entire scene was a biohazard.

The place was an absolute mess: food, dinner plates and paint were strewn all over.

Three bodies would be found. There would be more.

A person is in custody.
