Summary

I was born in Amarillo, Texas, and raised by my mother and grandmother who taught me about morality and God. However, my life took a dark turn when my father introduced me to drugs and street life at a young age. By 13, I was using meth and involved in criminal activities. I joined the Crips gang, became deeply addicted to crack cocaine, and was in and out of jail. Eventually, I was sentenced to 50 years in prison for aggravated robbery. In prison, I continued gang activities, violence, and smuggling contraband. After 15 years, I grew tired of the gang life. A fellow inmate, Brother Mason, began sharing the Word of God with me, and I started reading Proverbs. One verse, Proverbs 16:25, struck me deeply: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Through encounters with other transformed inmates and attending Bible studies, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ on August 23, 2008. God began to strip away my old habits, and I became involved in ministry within the prison, leading worship and counseling other inmates. After serving 26 years, I was miraculously granted parole. Upon release, I married my wife Nancy, and together we started “Crip to Christ Ministries.” Now, I dedicate my life to sharing my testimony, helping others find salvation and transformation through Jesus Christ, just as I did.
