By my sophomore year, the cycle of addiction—and the isolation it brought—left me almost friendless. On Mother’s Day, I overdosed on a cocktail of medications and lost twelve hours of my life; waking up terrified, I realized how close to death I’d come. A small-group leader from Rock City Church sat with me that night, spoke truth and hope into my heart, and ignited my desire to follow Jesus. Two months later, on Father’s Day, I stood in the baptismal waters at Rock City and declared my life belongs to Him. It’s been over five months now, and I’m no longer enslaved by addiction or my eating disorder—He has filled me with a joy I never thought possible. 🙌✨

Even in my darkest moment of my life, God came to me and He met me and claimed me as His own.
