SummaryI grew up in a broken home and, by 20, was in a second marriage and separated from my little boy. One night, after crying out to God, His love met me and began to transform everything. My husband and I soon found ourselves serving marriages in Wisconsin prisons, then God opened the door to Texas—into chapel services, faith-based dorms, and even “life row,” as the women called death row. There I met Karla Faye Tucker and witnessed a community of redeemed women who loved Jesus fiercely. I saw chains fall—my son Terry was set free from drug bondage after the women prayed for him, and a friend named Chris found grace to forgive as she faced AIDS. Through Discipleship Unlimited, we’ve watched recidivism plummet and hope rise. Jesus meets the broken in prison cells and living rooms alike, and His forgiveness truly sets captives free.

Linda Strom shares how God took her broken past and redeemed it through her work in prison ministry, and especially through the time she spent working on death row. One particularly impactful inmate mentioned is Karla Faye Tucker, the first woman executed in Texas in over 100 years.
