Summary

I grew up in a dysfunctional family marked by constant strife and unspeakable abuse. My father sexually abused me, my sister, and even my brother, leaving deep scars from my earliest memories. I was forced to confront these horrors as I grew up, feeling both a conflicted love and profound shame. As I entered my teenage years, I turned to drugs to numb the pain—experimenting with pot, then falling into harder addictions with cocaine, crack, and methamphetamines. I reached a point where I overdosed and, even though my life seemed irreparably broken, a series of events including my children being taken away and a devastating personal crisis forced me to confront my pain. I eventually left Ohio, sought refuge in a shelter for battered women in Indiana, and found a ministry called the House of Promise. There, through prayer, Bible study, and the tender intervention of a compassionate director, I gave my life to Christ. That day, a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders. Today, I stand as a testimony to God’s reconciling love—a journey from unbearable hurt to the healing and redemption found only in Jesus.
