Summary

My name is Brad, and I've been at the recovery program for nine months now. Growing up in a broken home with drugs and alcohol around, things got tough when my dad was killed in a car accident when I was 16. That's when I started using drugs, and I battled addiction for most of my adult life—getting sober for a bit, then relapsing. In 2018, I got arrested and went to jail, got out, used again, violated probation, and ended up back in jail. I stayed sober for a few years after that, got heavily involved in my church doing mission work in New Orleans and at JH Ranch. But then I relapsed, and that's what brought me here. This program has strengthened my faith tremendously—the Bible classes have built my knowledge so I can disciple others, my prayer life is stronger, and I'm committed to staying in the Word. When I finish, I plan to get back into church and mission work, even out of the country, keeping Jesus at the center of every decision. I want to help pull people out of that fire and show them a better way. If you're struggling, give it to God—Psalms 46:10 says to be still and know He is God.
