Her father, Reverend James Mitchell, had pastored their small Baptist church for 35 years, and her mother was the heart and soul of the church—playing the piano, directing the choir, and organizing every meal and event. Church was not just a building to Linda; it was who they were. From an early age, Linda knew what it meant to serve and live for God. At the age of 9, during a summer revival, she accepted Jesus as her Savior. That moment of forgiveness felt like a warm blanket, bringing her peace and assurance that she belonged to God.
Linda’s baptism, just a month later, marked a milestone in her spiritual journey. Standing in the creek behind their church, she declared her faith, feeling like everything in her life had lined up perfectly. Her future seemed secure, and all she had to do was keep living in service to the Lord.
At 22, Linda married Robert Robinson, her college sweetheart. They dreamed of full-time ministry, but life had other plans. Robert’s calling shifted, and he became a high school principal instead. Although their plans changed, they trusted in God’s direction and became faithful lay leaders wherever He placed them. For 28 years, they were deeply involved in Faith Community Church, pouring their lives into serving others.
However, on June 15th, 2025, Linda’s NDE revealed something she wasn’t expecting. What she thought was true faithfulness and readiness for Jesus’s return was shaken to its core. In those 11 minutes, she learned that merely showing up and doing the right things doesn’t mean you’re truly prepared for what’s to come.
