I partied and did drugs but then Jesus did this…
Summary
My name is Amber, and I grew up in a broken family where my mother battled drug addiction and my father was in prison. From an early age, I was exposed to painful realities, including sexual assault at 13 and an unstable upbringing. Seeking acceptance, I turned to alcohol and drugs, experimenting with LSD, weed, and other substances before and after school.
Even though I didn’t believe in God at first, a friend invited me to a small home gathering where I encountered the presence of Jesus in a way I couldn’t ignore. Later, at a worship event in Sacramento led by Sean Feucht, I prayed for God to prove He was real—and He did. I found myself singing along to worship songs I’d never heard, and I felt an overwhelming sense of love and peace.
That same night, I knew I needed to be baptized. Emerging from the water, I felt instantly lighter and freer, especially from the sexual sin and validation I had been chasing. Shortly afterward, I witnessed God break off unhealthy ties I’d been unable to cut on my own.
Returning home, I was so changed that I couldn’t keep Jesus to myself. I began sharing my faith openly, praying for strangers, and witnessing healing and deliverance happen—even though I barely understood what “deliverance” was. I later enrolled at Kingdom Domain College to learn more about my identity in Christ and deepen my walk with God. Through prayer, community, and Scripture, I’ve come to experience genuine heart healing—from releasing anger toward my mom and dad, to embracing God’s love for me and extending it to others.
My life is unrecognizable compared to where I started. I used to live in a fog of rejection and addiction, but now I live daily in the joy and freedom that only Jesus can bring. I’m eternally grateful for how God took my darkest moments and used them to shape a testimony of His unwavering love and power to redeem.
