Summary

Hi, I’m Eric. I took a group of teenagers, including Nick, on a backpacking and canoeing trip in Manistee National Forest. Nick was 15, had barely exercised before, and even struggled to tie his own shoes. Despite falling a couple of times and feeling overwhelmed, he persevered. We connected over his interests, and as we kept talking and pushing forward, he stopped complaining about his sore feet and started focusing on the journey. I realized God was teaching us both about pressing on in suffering, trusting His guidance, and taking in the beauty around us rather than rushing ahead. Nick’s determination and the support of the group made me see how God is always near, walking alongside us through our trials and growing our faith every step of the way.

Suffering for Christians in this life will be rewarded through eternity.

Sadly – Suffering in this life for those who have no use for Jesus Christ and what He accomplished for them by taking the punishment for their sins on the cross … their suffering in this life will have accomplished NOTHING once they pass into eternity.
