That unmistakable message led me to embrace Jesus Christ as my true Lord and Savior, filling me with a newfound peace and purpose. I grew up in New Zealand in a Buddhist household—half Chinese and half Vietnamese—immersed in ancestral rituals and cultural practices. My early life took a harsh turn when I entered foster care after both my parents were imprisoned. In my rebellious teenage years, I sought independence by threatening suicide, smoking, and even engaging in sexual promiscuity. At 15, I dove into the world of psychedelics at parties, which eventually led me into deeper New Age practices like Tantra, shamanism, and occult ceremonies. While living in Melbourne, overwhelmed by loneliness and the emptiness of these spiritual practices, I attended a Christian worship event where I was struck by an overwhelming call to “go towards the light.” In that moment, everything changed—I experienced the undeniable presence of Jesus, declared my need to love and forgive even my earthly father, and felt my heart completely healed. I then made a conscious decision to release all remnants of my past occult life, discarding tarot cards, crystals, and any ties to New Age practices. Today, I stand as a born-again Christian, testifying that true healing and transformation are found only in Jesus Christ.

I grew up within a religious environment—first experiencing the warmth of the Catholic and Lutheran churches—yet there was always a spark inside me that led me to search for a deeper truth. In my youth, I bounced between different faith systems, from Jehovah’s Witnesses to Buddhism and even dabbled in Gnosticism, trying to fill a void I couldn’t quite name. As I grew older, my curiosity led me deep into New Age practices: I explored tarot, rune readings, and even experimented with light language. At first, I believed I was accessing a hidden truth. But the deeper I went, the more I found myself trapped in darkness. My spirit guides began to turn against me; I felt the oppressive weight of demonic encounters and the painful sting of spiritual deception. Then, in the midst of a life-threatening crisis brought on by pneumonia, everything changed. I prayed with all my heart in an ICU that seemed to be closing in on me. In that desperate moment, Jesus reached out and delivered me from the nightmare I’d been living. The love, comfort, and undeniable truth of His presence transformed me completely. Today, I stand as a living testimony of how even the darkest of pasts can be overcome by the light of Christ. I share my journey so that anyone entangled in occult deceptions or wandering in spiritual darkness may find hope and the assurance of true restoration in Jesus.
