My name is David, and I share my testimony of how Jesus saved my soul and delivered me from the grip of bipolar disorder, addiction, and demonic oppression. Growing up in a normal household in Orange County, California, I was raised with a strong church background and was even baptized as a child. However, during high school and college, I began drifting away from the Lord—getting caught up in sports idolatry, substance use (including drugs, alcohol, marijuana, and even excessive caffeine), and casual sin. This lifestyle eventually led me into a downward spiral where I was hospitalized multiple times for bipolar disorder. Despite warnings from my family to stay on medication, I chose to trust God’s promises. A pivotal moment occurred when a disciple shared a Bible passage from Galatians 5 that revealed the spiritual consequences of my reliance on medication. That lesson, coupled with the pain of homelessness and isolation, drove me to turn around, seek forgiveness, and run toward God. Today, I stand as a living testimony that no matter what diagnosis or addiction you face, if you repent and surrender to Jesus, He will rescue and restore you.

Raised in a Christian family (though later I denounced Him at 17), I fell into a life marked by fornication, drugs, and even a terrifying kidnapping. Amid this turmoil, I experienced an encounter with God in the mountains that changed everything. Through the loving support of friends and a newfound understanding of repentance, I chose to return to Jesus—getting baptized both in water and the Holy Spirit. Today, I am free of bipolar disorder and have experienced a radical change in my life through His grace. My testimony is a message of hope for anyone battling inner darkness and despair.

Summary

This is my story of healing from bipolar disorder. For as long as I can remember, I yearned to know more about God and understand His plans for me. My spiritual journey took me through New Age practices—yoga, meditating on visions, and even questioning if Jesus was merely an ascended master. I eventually became so self-reliant that I lost sight of the true God. My mind began to disintegrate, and my behavior led to repeated hospitalizations and a crisis of mental health. Through the intervention of my husband, pastor, and the healing power of Scripture, I immersed myself in God’s Word and began to experience genuine encounters with the Holy Spirit. Slowly, the heavy darkness lifted, and I was set free from the lies that once broke my mind. By surrendering my identity to Him, I not only weaned myself off medication but also experienced restoration and deliverance—a transformation that I now testify is the work of Jesus alone.
